Wedding season look book – Celebrating the rich legacy with NAVIBHU

While we cherish the season of marriages in India, the online retail brand Myntra has launched its very own handloom brand “NAVIBHU”. Let’s give up our confusion of looking for the perfect outfit and give this brand a go for fulfilling all our saree needs. The brand has an exquisite range of over 250 sarees, dupattas and stoles. When we think of buying handloom sarees, authenticity plays a very important role and you can be sure of that if you are buying it from Navibhu because it has been launched in association with ‘The Ministry of Textiles’. The brand has eliminated any third party involved between the weavers and the brand which makes it even more reliable. Whenever you buy something from Navibhu, you are not just wearing the pride and honor of fair trade, you are also supporting weavers across the country.

The brand is not restricting itself from supporting the weavers financially but along with Government of India, it is also sponsoring the education of the handloom weavers and their children at NIOS and IGNOU. Myntra’s annual summit, Tech Threads, unveiled the launch of the brand. The Minister of Textiles, Smriti Irani, wished the brand a great success.

Here’s our lookbook for this wedding season which has been created using a saree from their handloom collection and accessories from Myntra.

“About Navibhu: NAVIBHU celebrates the beauty and the rich legacy of India’s cultural heritage. We sojourn on this cultural expedition exploring the staples and heritage crafts from the richest treasure troves of India. We bring to you exquisite handloom creations sourced directly from weavers across the country. Adorn exquisite garments handspun by artisans and flaunt our tradition with pride.”

Saree –

The gorgeous saree is a part of Navibhu’s handloom collection and is perfect for any wedding occasion if you are not a fan of gaudy looks. It has a checked pattern and a pink colour unstitched blouse attached to it. As the model wears, you can even pair it with a black blouse. The saree is in pure cotton and that’s what makes it fit for the hot and humid summers of India. A slight change in the choice of accessories can give you the freedom to wear it in casual or party wear look.

Neckpiece –

Bangles –

Earrings –

The jewellery has been picked keeping in mind the classic quotient of the saree. The earrings are in an antique gold-toned pink crescent shape which follows the colour palette of the outfit. The choker and the bangles have maintained the grace and elegance of the look. The choker is by Steve Madden and the footwear is by GNIST available at a discounted price.

Fashion and sustainability have never seen the good light in India. It is a high time when we should contribute to the livelihoods of the weavers living in abject poverty.
